1998 – Formation by Thom Piston (BERLIN) & Michael Kirschner (SAN FRANCISCO)
1999 – Opening of the legendary FLYING PISTON GALLERY in Berlin
1999 – First exhibition showing works of the American artist EMEK who was on site for this exhibition, his first show ever in Germany.
1999 – First exhibiton of the US based poster artists FIREHOUSE (CHUCK SPERRY and RON DONOVAN) in Berlin – CHROME SHOW. Both artists attended the opening.
2000 – First german POP ART exhibition with works of CHRIS SHAW (San Francisco) @ the FP-gallery, Berlin.
2000 – First group exhibition – GANGBANG 1. Around 250 POP ART posters by American artists CHUCK SPERRY, RON DONOVAN, MARKO ALMERA, CHASE MARSHALL, CHRIS SHAW and EMEK are shown for the first time ever at three different locations throughout Germany.
2000 – EMEK & FLYING PISTON design the tour poster of DIE AERZTE. EMEK & FLYING PISTON design the covers of all CDs released by METAL HAMMER Magazine in 2000. FIREHOUSE designs the covers of all CDs released by ROLLING STONE Magazine, Germany in 2000.
2001 – CHRIS SHAW & FLYING PISTON design the covers of all CDs released by ROLLING STONE Magazine, Germany in 2001. GANGBANG 2 is successfully held in Berlin and Hamburg. CHRIS SHAW & FLYING PISTON do a t-shirt design for DIE TOTEN HOSEN. EMEK & FLYING PISTON work for SONY MUSIC Germany doing the cover artwork for the BAD RELIGION compilation PUNK ROCK SONGS; FP is responsible for accompanying ad layouts.
2001 – Last exhibition @ FLYING PISTON GALLERY Berlin shows works of photographer DAVID PERRY who is attending the opening.
2001 – Birth of SMOKIN SHUTDOWN – first and (until that day) only German hot rod magazine, the only one worldwide published in German AND English. Until now FP has featured around 200 Lowbrow and Kustom Kulture artists in SMOKIN SHUTDOWN because there´s not enough time to keep up FP as an agency and gallery...
But the syndication of all people introduced on this site will be making this possible again – NOW!
